Apple's auto-correct seems to have been developed by a team whose first (second, and third) language is not English. Why offer and rave about a function when it is beyond inept and has nothing intuitive about it.

Any supposed time saved in typing is spend on proofing correspondence since auto-correct is not exactly reliable.

Thanks for sharing this. I thought it was just me being too picky and critical. Alas, I remember a time when Apple upgrades were fun and exciting. Now they all seem to be ridden with bugs and UI/interaction changes that simply make no sense and seem more in line with Microsoft's approach. I have used iPhoto since day one and it was always a pleasure, now it is more frustration. Same with Mail not to mention Lion... so sad.

You explain some good ways how to go paperless, but there are even other ways to go completely paperless. In times of mobile phones, iPads, apps and the cloud it's becoming easier to go this way. There are different (free) solutions on the market that offer exactly what you want, without having to pay for it.
