In a bid to increase their market share in the browser world, Apple has announced the availability of their Safari Web Browser for Windows. Benchmarks by Apple claim that Safari on Windows is twice as fast as IE and 1.6 times as fast as Firefox.

I like Firefox too much to even try.
I might try it out for sh**s and giggles. But what I really want from Apple is a legal copy of OSX that I can buy from them and install on my hardware, not their overpriced stuff. I would love to have another OS choice besides M$ or Ubuntu.
WTF? WINDOWS? What are you guys thinking? Windows already has EI7, Firefox, and Opera, plus many more! We don’t need a stupid Mac browser to clutter up our stuff.
Hopefully this is just a first step to OSX on a non-Mac platform. Probably just wishful thinking, but one can dream, right?

Wow, Safari sucks, I tried it and its not faster than FireFox. I love FireFox, you can’t tweak Safari like you can with FireFox. That “1.6 Times faster” is BS as well.

Safari has some weird issues even in Mac OS. FireFox is a much better browser period end of sentence.
Wow, tried it for 30 min and half of the sites I use causes it to crash or not display anything. Maybe it’s just a Trojan to destroy Windows systems
Definitely agree, I hope this is Apple’s toe in the water towards OSX on any system.
I want to tell people to f00k Vista and get OSX, it’s less scary than telling them to put Ubuntu on.
Apple has defenetly run out of ideas. Safari gives the worst benchmarks ever! Even IE7 is better..
It looks just shitty as hell.. I’d suggest to use firefox, which is better, faster, cooler!
I am willing to try it, as I have heard that it is extremely fast on the mac. People need to keep in mind that is the beta version, which means that it will have some bugs that need working out, but when they fix them, it might become a very useful tool. As for being faste rthan Firefox, I don’t think that’s possible, with the way you cna change the config to make frefox itself 2x faster….
