Top Secrect Microsoft Product Just Hours Away
Tomorrow (Wednesday) Bill Gates and Steve Jobs will meet for an once in a lifetime interview conducted by Walt Mossberg at the ‘All Things Digital Conference.’
Unlike other computer events such as the CES, the speakers at ‘All Things D.’ are invite only, per Walt Mosberg and Kara Swisher. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs will be drilled by the two hosts about the technology of tomorrow and its impact on society. Therefore, you can bet all your Zune’s that the iPhone will be part of that discussion.
“Coincidentally” Gizmodo reports today, that Microsoft is set to unveil a Top Secret Product to launch at midnight. (12:01am EST)
According to an email Gizmodo received by mistake through official channels, the new device will be something very special; “something totally new coming out of the Entertainment and Devices division, and it’s going to change the way people interact with technology.”
Seems like the Big Bill really didn’t care to be questioned about his answer to the iPhone without having something very special on his own. Bring it on Bill!
UPDATE:
Engadet reports that Microsoft might be official unveiling of the company’s PlayTable / Project Milan multi-touch, gesture-based input technology.
PlayTable, which combines elements we’ve seen in the iPhone, from NYU’s Jeff Han, in various prototype devices, and from Microsoft’s own, recently-demo’ed DigiDesk, is envisioned as a multi-purpose interface that can be employed in anything from a DAP (Zune) to a cellphone (WinMo handsets) to a gaming console (Xbox).
I don’t want to sound negative, but that’s no iPhone, Bill…
UPDATE #2:
Turns out Microsoft did launch Multitouch Surface Computing. There’s even a video at Popularmechanics. Go, check it out. And even though this is pretty damn amazingly, unbelievable cool, I am still going for the iPhone given the $5,000 – $10,00 price tag of this beauty…
UPDATE #3:
The official Microsoft ‘Surface’ website has been launched. Check for more details.
A coffee table? Seriously? Hello back problems!
Apple has nothing to worry about, I am not really impressed by this.
I love apple, but this sounds/looks like a great product. I wish apple had come up with it, at least I woudn’t be worried about this thing running windows. I think Apple should get cracking as I see this being a threat to apple, as an apple fan.
